About Sarah Moore
Business communication researcher and teacher at UT Dallas, and co-author of a forthcoming Sage textbook.
Bio
Sarah E. Moore, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Instruction in business communication at the Naveen Jindal School of Management at The University of Texas at Dallas. She serves as faculty liaison to the university's Institutional Liaison to SACSCOC, with a focus on using AI to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Her research examines how generative AI is changing professional communication and how it is taught, including institutional AI policy, AI applicant tracking systems and résumé instruction, AI writing assistants, and LinkedIn. Her 2024 article on generative AI policy development in higher education, written with Kathryn Lookadoo for Business and Professional Communication Quarterly, is her most-cited work.
In 2024 she was named one of UT Dallas's first Provost's Teaching Fellows, and she leads campus faculty development on AI in teaching. With Kathryn Lookadoo, she is writing Business Communication: Skills for Professional Growth, an AI-forward introductory textbook forthcoming from Sage in 2028. She is a Sage Faculty Partner and has presented Sage webinars for faculty on topics from responsible AI use to accessibility.
Writing for real readers connects her work across roles. She started her career as a newspaper reporter covering education and later served as Secretary of the Faculty for UT Dallas's Academic Senate. She holds a PhD in humanities from UT Dallas.
